The road passes two sights worth a stop: Chand Baori, the deep stepwell at Abhaneri, a short detour about 95 km from Jaipur, and Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal capital about 40 km before Agra. Tell us if you want either and we plan the timing so you still reach Agra in daylight.
The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays. Going for sunrise at the Taj? Travel the day before and stay overnight in Agra, or take a round trip with the car waiting.
